“Quit your favorite stream” doesn’t sound like sage fly fishing advice. Quitters never win. And winners never quit.
That’s fully true. And it’s also fully not true.
Sometimes, the best thing you can do is to quit your favorite stream, creek, or stretch of river. In this episode, we wax not so eloquently on when it’s time to walk away from what has been your favorite fishing spot. It may not be forever. But doing so may push you to find new water to fish.

I couldn’t agree more with your podcast. I came to the realization a while ago that above all I want fishing to be fun. After spending too many days complaining about kids throwing rocks, dogs splashing through my pool, and having people walk right through and I front of me (I call them the “bro fly fishers”- they’re right out of the Orvis fly catalog- sorry Orvis I do buy your gear) I decided to seek other venues when it gets that bad. I bought a canoe and fish the pond.
Hah! I love it – “the bro fly fishers.” Perfect.
And the dog. Always a dog.
So true. I may have to buy a canoe!

Hi Guys
I trust you are well and getting some Driftless time in?
This is a comment about accessing the Podcasts. I have an android phone. The podcasts used to automatically download on my Pocket Cast App but the last episode to arrive was #262. I searched around and found them available on the Pod Bean App. Do you know of any reason Pocket Casts would no longer carry your Pod Casts?
Brian, great to hear from you. We spent some days in winter and spring in the Driftless, but the summer creeks are so low right now and the growth in the stream is ubiquitous. Hope to fish more in the fall.
I’m so sorry to hear about the podcast issue. I did some sleuthing and submitted our podcast directly to Pocket Casts. This should be resolved.
Before, we had our podcast provider do the distribution as part of the feed, but seems like there have been some hiccups.
Let me know if you get it now.
Thank you!
Dave
